Eating right is important for our well being.
No matter what you decide to eat today remember to balance it tomorrow!
Have fun and enjoy every bite!
Crumbles of Health is the go-to source for people looking for fresh recipes, balanced eating, diet-free lifestyle, food photography and a dollop of inspiration and motivation – for those days when you need it the most.
You’re not Carrie Bradshaw. And you don’t want to be. (She kept shoes in her oven. If I was a queen of the world, that would be a crime) No, you’re more like the girl next door.
You want to do better today than you did yesterday.
Specifically, you want to be healthy. You want to eat food that tastes good. Food that heals, instead of hurts. You want to become a breakfast person. You want to have dinner and know exactly what ingredients went into it – because you made it. And you want to keep your shoes in the hallway closet.
Those are all totally doable.
See, some people say, “You are what you eat.” (I’d be an avocado!) And they’re not wrong.
But I prefer saying,
“You are what you do every day.”
I believe balance is the key to healthy living. Eating too much of anything, either good or bad, can result in health problems. And while I am all about nourishing the body the best way possible, having the “not so healthy” food ones in a while is OK!!
We are not perfect! And that’s OK too! Balance is not just about what you eat, but how you live. Stress, work, exercise, food, the environment, all those things are connected!
I’ve never been a fan of restrictions and diets! Why? Because we are all different, one diet will never work the same for everybody. Do what works for YOU! Eat what makes you happy, while living a balanced life.
My journey so far
I was struggling with my health for a very long time. My hormones were out of whack and my skin had declared war – on itself. I didn’t pay attention to how much food is connected with our well being. And I didn’t think it mattered. (Sound familiar?)
In an effort to avoid conventional medicine and heal naturally, I started to educate myself. I read tons of books and articles, did lots of research, stopped eating dairy and became conscious of what I put into my body.
When I realized how much interest I have in nutrition, I decided to enroll in a Holistic Nutrition program where I learned a lot about biochemistry and bio-individuality. Eating for health is a lifestyle and my journey, which I want to share with you and hopefully, I can help someone along the way.
Today, my hormones and skin are in a much better place. My body is good to me because I am good to it. Crumbles of Health is the culmination of my journey so far. A place where I can share the ideas, recipes (and photography!) that have changed, and are changing, my life.
As an artist and creative soul, I wanted to find ways to incorporate my interest in food with my urge to create. Food photography became my passion and a way to express my creativity. There is something very special about capturing the beauty of food.
I wanted to learn everything I can about food photography, so I started taking online courses and eventually enrolled in a photography school, but most importantly I practice, practice, practice!
For me, photography is not just simply taking a shot, but capturing a moment and telling a story through the lens. An image must evoke a feeling or emotion.
