Ingredients

  • 100 g Fresh Ginger Root, About 5-6 inches
  • 250 ml Water, 1 cup
  • 200 g Raw cane sugar or Brown sugar, 1 cup

  2. In a saucepan combine the water and sugar. Cook on medium heat until the sugar has dissolved.
  3. Add the sliced ginger and let it simmer on low heat for about 30 minutes, partially covered with a lid. The longer you cook it the thicker will get.
  4. When done simmering let it cool before removing the ginger pieces.
  5. Once cooled, remove the ginger using a sieve and transfer the syrup into a clean dry jar.
  6. Keep well sealed in the fridge for up to 3 months.
