Philosophy
Living in a pretty toxic world and trying to avoid all the harmful and unhealthy substances can be hard. This is why paying attention to what we put in our bodies is very important for our well-being. Unfortunately, just because we eat a salad every day is not enough anymore, we have to look beyond what’s on our plates. Most importantly we have to ask “Where it came from and how was it raised/grown?
You don’t want to eat food that only tastes good, but also heals instead of hurts!
Using ingredients that are organic and free of pesticides, hormones, and chemicals is something everyone should care, and look for. Because the food we eat makes us be who we are – sick or healthy!
I believe balance is the key to healthy living. Eating too much of anything, either a salad or a chocolate cake can result in health problems. And while I am all about nourishing the body the best way possible, having the “not so healthy” food once in a while is OK!!
We are not perfect! And that’s OK too! Balance is not just about what you eat, but how you live. Stress, work, exercise, food, the environment, all these things are connected!
I’ve never been a fan of restrictions and diets! Why? Because we are all different, one diet will never work the same for everybody. Do what works for YOU! Eat what makes you happy, while living a balanced life.
My journey so far
I was struggling with my health for a very long time. My hormones were out of whack, and my skin had declared war – on itself. I didn’t pay attention to how much food is connected with our well-being. And I didn’t think it mattered. (Sound familiar?)
To avoid conventional medicine and heal naturally, I started to educate myself. When I realized how much interest I have in nutrition, I decided to enroll in a Holistic Nutrition program where I learned about biochemistry and bio-individuality. Eating for health is a lifestyle and my journey, which I want to share with you and hopefully, I can help someone along the way.
Today, my hormones and skin are in a much better place. My body is good to me because I am good to it. Crumbles of Health is the culmination of my journey so far. A place where I can share the ideas and recipes that are helping me to live a healthier lifestyle.
Photography
As an artist and creative soul, I wanted to find ways to incorporate my interest in food with my urge to create. Food photography became my passion and a way to express my creativity. There is something very special about capturing the beauty of food.
I wanted to learn everything I can about food photography, so I started taking online courses and eventually enrolled in a Photography school, but most importantly I practice, practice, and practice!
For me, photography is not just simply taking a shot, but capturing a moment and telling a story through the lens. An image must evoke a feeling.
